In Nintendo Monopoly, Mario is Boardwalk
This one is for all the Nintendorks out there. When you’re not playing Nintendo’s video games, you’re probably doing one of three things: cosplaying as famous Nintendo characters, quilting yourself a blanket featuring your favorite Nintendo characters, or wondering why those same Nintendo characters don’t permeate every other facet of your life.
Heh, Nintendork is a bit of a harsh word, but hey, it’s not my word.
The pictures in the link above look very good, I’d love to play that.
Reminds me of both the Star Wars Monopoly [amazon.com] that a friend of mine bought years ago, and also a Lord of the Rings version of Risk [lordoftheringsrisk.com] that I saw when the LotR movies just started appearing at the cinemas… They were both a bit pricey for me, but I suppose there are some people that would buy it just to have it.
I wonder whatever happened to my Stratego [more links here]. That was a great game. Could never get anybody to play it with me though. *sigh*
Ooooooooh, searching for links about Stratego, I found this site that has a fully playable downloadable version of it called The General (Shareware unfortunately). Cool! Would be a nice game for the Nintendo DS I think.

Exclusive footage from the “Lost” game [via Joystiq]
This Lost game is shaping up to be a real looker, if a little repetitive.
There’s a youtube video embedded on the page I’m linking to above.
The game looks really awesome, but I doubt I’d be hooked for very long though…

Amazing Crysis (PC) comparison pics [via Joystiq]
The graphics engine for Crysis, launching Q4 of this year, can render some amazing results.
Whoa baby! I am *so* drooling right now. Crysis is going to be an *amazingly* beautiful game. Now, how much blood would I need to sell to afford the Dual 7900GTX cards to be able to gets those results?
MyExtraLife mentioned this first…

Half-Life 2: Episode One now playable [joystiq.com]
Valve has opened the virtual doors to Half-Life 2: Episode One: that’s right, the first episode of the new series that follows the aftermath of Half-Life 2 is now playable on Steam.
I’ve had my eye on Half-Life 2: Episode One for a while now, and the unfortunate thing is that with my piddly 192k ADSL and pathetic 3GB cap, means I won’t be able to get this without paying even more than needed…
*sigh*
Not that I have a huge amount of time to play something as great as this though… If you’re one of the lucky ones that *can* get this game *and* play it, then I’m sure you already know that you can go visit the site and buy it now. Go, scoot. Go on.

Just saw this on T3.co.uk. Datel (the same company that brought us all those Max add-ons for all our favourite consoles, see their goodies at www.codejunkies.com), just announced a sweet Media Player add-on pack for the Nintendo DS, all with 4GB storage that fits into the GBA slot, and can play movies, music, etc. For 130GBP. It’s a good price, if a bit on the expensive side.
I personally own both an M3 Adapter(m3-sd) and a SuperCard(sc-sd), both of which come with software to convert movies to a playable format on the DS. I’d have to say that the DS’s screen size and screen quality just don’t compare the the PSP’s, and I wouldn’t want to use the DS to watch any kind of movies on. I’ve tried the M3 Adapters movie converter, and the end result is really bad. REALLY bad. If you truely want a gaming platform that can double as a movie player, then rather get the PSP. But there’s just no beating the DS’s gameplay for a lot of its games.

Ah yes, takes you back doesn’t it? Although, I would have added a whole bunch more…
I saw a link to this page on digg.com this morning. A quick glance at the list of 8-bit sprites, and I identified a massive 3 sprites. I feel ashamed.
How many did you identify?

I’ve been rather out of it lately, not blogging. Siss on me. (Hey, it happens).
I see that there’s a new version of PCSX2 out. V0.9 was released yesterday, and seems to include a couple of games added onto their list of playable games in the emulator.
I actually don’t get it really, the PS2 is so cheap nowadays, why not just go buy one? *shrug* Emulators of current-gen consoles on a PC is usually poor quality, so you don’t get the enjoyment out of it anyway. Go figure.

Final Fantasy Potion Taste Test [via Joystiq.com]
At the event the new Final Fantasy soft drink “Potion” was available for sampling. According to sources that were at the event it tasted like a nutritional supplement drink with a fresh aftertaste.
Hehe, I recall reading about this before. A Final Fantasy “potion” for sale, for real.
As long as it tastes good.
Update:
1up.com reveals that Final Fantasy XII Potion has hit the streets, and here’s what they say:
Within each Potion bottle, you get 100ml of “herb drink,” a subtle blend of Royal Jelly, Propolis Extract, Elderberry, Camomile, Sage, Thyme, Hyssop, Fennel, Marjoram, Rosemary, Basil and Melissa, not to mention carbonated water, caffeine and artificial coloring. To be honest, it tastes just like any other Japanese “genki” drink, and there’s not much of a difference in taste between this and a can of Red Bull, though Potion probably contains less chemicals.
I’d pay to have that! At the current exchange rate, that puts a 100ml bottle of the stuff at the same price of a Red Bull.
Update 2006-03-10:
spong.com has a link to a “Hilarious TV Ad” for the Final Fantasy XII Potion drink… Go have a look, I’ll be checking it out later this evening. Can only be good.
